You are NOT alone!
Some information that may be useful to the victims / freshers !

Introduction Ragging is a criminal offence in India. However, unfortunately ragging is still rampant in many campuses across the country. Many youngsters like you have been suffering from inhumane abuses, in the hand of some seniors. Still, innocent teenagers die and many get badly injured.
In some cases, the management of academic institutions turn supportive to the victims. But the allegations of being hostile is very common. We have come across several cases, where the victims and/or their guardians have informed us of extreme non-cooperation from the institutional authorities. Often we have heard of cases where institutes have allegedly tried to harass the victims themselves!!!
However, the hon'ble Supreme Court of India has taken a serious note of the menace of ragging in India. The hon'ble court has provided elaborate orders to curb the menace. Consequent to the order, various authoritative bodies like the Medical Council of India (MCI), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), etc. have formed their Anti Ragging Regulations. These, alongwith the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 provide lots of recourses to the victims, in addition to other legal recourses.
In this section, we have tried to make some of the information available to the victims and/or their guardians. However, please read the Disclaimer here. Please share your feedback with us, so that we may strengthen our movement against ragging.
